Alter Elbtunnel which means Old Elbe Tunnel is a pedestrian and vehicle tunnel passing under the Elbe River in Hamburg. The tunnel is 426 meters long and 24 meters beneath the surface. Motorized vehicles, bicycles and pedestrain can use lifts to reach to the tunnel at the each ends. Pedestrians and bicycles may use the tunnel 24/7. Motorized vehicles are only allowed Monday to Friday day times.
