Permanent exhibitions at the museum provide information about the lives of people in East Germany. The museum, tells the life of the people at the time and there are 800 exhibitions, 200 documents, films and sound recordings.
It contains information on many topics such as people's daily living conditions, factory workers, shopping, travel and invitation.
